Job Description:
Experienced financial services attorney with a strong background in secured lending who is able to provide broad based internal legal support and strategic advice to the commercial businesses of An American Multinational Investment Bank & Financial Services Holding Company Primary focus is structuring, negotiating and advising on syndicated and bilateral commercial credit arrangements as well as specifc advice regarding commercial legal framework. Responsibilities will also include participation in enterprise, legal and business projects and initiatives.
The position requires a close working partnership with line of business clients at all levels, and also with other internal legal colleagues and syndications, treasury, risk management, compliance, regulatory and other partners supporting those lines of business.
Provides general legal counsel to the commercial banking and private lending businesses, as well as specific advice on products, services and certain legal actions. Reviews legal contracts and documents. Directly, or through staff, conducts legal research. May represent the bank in legal actions.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years relevant experience with emphasis on structuring, drafting and negotiating documentation for single lender and syndicated commercial credit facilities.
- Relevant documentation and transactional experience should include some work with single lender and syndicated credit agreements, security agreements, inter-creditor agreements, commitment letters and term sheets as well as other commercial finance documentation.
- Candidates must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate experience and confidence in risk identification and analysis, and risk management decision making.
- Must have JD and at least one state bar admission (active/good standing)
