Location: District 20 Child Support Services Division Office, Ardmore, OK
Status: Full-Time

Salary: Starting salary is $85,000, commensurate with experience

Position Description:
Located in the heart of Lake Country, District 20 is the home to Lake Murray, Lake Texoma, Lake of the Arbuckles and the Chickasaw National Recreational Center, Turner Falls, as well as Lake Crest Hotel & Casino at Lake Murray, Winstar Casino, Artesian Hotel & Casino, and soon the Hard Rock Café at Lake Texoma. The District Attorney's Child Support Services Division Office is located in Ardmore, OK, in the OKDHS building. This is an in-person position and does not have a telework or remote option.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- License to practice law in State of Oklahoma and a member of Oklahoma Bar Association.
- Minimum four (4) years of legal experience.
- Applicants must possess strong writing and research skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and work with law enforcement, elected officials, attorneys, and other agencies.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background check and have no criminal history.
- Job-related travel is required as you must attend in-person court hearings monthly in each of the five counties. Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Job Responsibilities:
- This position is assigned the primary responsibility as Managing Attorney for a CSS office.
- Preparation and filing of pleadings and trial of cases in child support related hearings in district and administrative courts. Position will train and assist staff with preparation of legal documents and ensure their compliance with ethical considerations.
- Consultation and negotiation with other attorneys and customers of Oklahoma Child Support Services, and interpretation of laws, regulations, opinions of the court and policy.
- Duties include directing the legal activities of the office, supervising the preparation of cases for court, representing the agency in the most complex cases, involvement in all aspects of the establishment and enforcement of child support Orders.
- The Managing Attorney deals directly with state and federal officials and is highly knowledgeable of subject matter in areas of specific responsibility and will work independently in the management and direct of the most complex matters.
- The attorney will represent the State of Oklahoma in both District and Administrative Court proceedings.
