What we are looking for:
- Juris Doctor (JD) required, with active bar membership or ability to obtain within one year
- At least 3 years of work experience – paralegal or insurance experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of contracts, governance practices, and insurance policies
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Document Preparation & Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including NDAs and vendor agreements, with a focus on risk mitigation
- Create and terminate legal entities and ensure timely filing of annual reports and registrations
- Organize and maintain corporate governance records, including board minutes and legal filings
- Support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and real estate transactions
- Improve contract management processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency
- Coordinate with outside counsel on active cases
- Prepare and file legal documents such as exhibits, briefs, and motions
- Schedule and coordinate interviews, depositions, and meetings with stakeholders
- Manage evidence and documentation related to litigation and claims
- Oversee responses to subpoenas, garnishments, and discovery requests
- Monitor and manage legal expenses to ensure budget alignment
- Collaborate with insurance brokers on coverage lines and policy renewals
- Manage insurance claims and coordinate recovery efforts
- Process and formalize Certificates of Insurance and departmental workflows
- Resolve minor general liability consumer complaints with internal teams
- Handle annual business license and permit renewals
- Track and reconcile insurance-related expenses
- Participate in weekly department meetings and ad hoc discussions
- Contribute to organizational initiatives, projects, and cross-functional teams
- Partner with finance, HR, operations, and IT on legal and compliance needs
