Duties Description
  • Representing the Board of Parole in revocation appeals that may require appearances in Court.
  • Responsible for responding to administrative appeals and litigation concerning Board matters.
  • Provides legal advice to the Board, the Bureau of Adjudication, and other Board staff.
  • Assists Board of Parole counsel with addressing internal issues that arise between the Board and DOCCS staff.
  • Aids in drafting legislation, regulations, and directives for the board.
  • Interfaces frequently with the Office of the Attorney General concerning litigation issues.
  • Special projects as needed and directed by the Board of Parole counsel.
  • Helps with drafting training materials that will be supplied to Board staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Admission to the New York State Bar and two years of post-admission experience in the practice of law.
