Position Description:Georgia State University's College of Law seeks applicants for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in its Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. The position is a twelve-month clinical faculty track appointment, with faculty status, a promotion track that leads to a presumptively renewable contract with job security commensurate with tenured faculty. Clinical faculty have voting rights and serve on faculty committees at the College of Law. Clinical faculty may also teach non-clinic courses consistent with their expertise and interests. The appointment will begin at the outset of the fall 2026 semester.
The Clinical Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching and assisting in the administrative operations of the Clinic. Responsibilities will include the supervision of students in all aspects of client representation, case selection and client communication, and developing and teaching related coursework.
Required Experience:
Applicants should have a strong academic background, practical tax and lawyering experience, and a record of (or demonstrated potential) for successful clinical teaching, professional engagement and service.
Required Education:
- Applicants should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.), Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.), Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.), LL.M. (Master of Laws), or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an ABA-accredited law school at the time of appointment.
- Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience in an academic tax clinic as an attorney is strongly preferred, though not required.

Work Hours:
Law Fiscal Year/12-month appointment. Standard hours to support the workload of 80% Teaching and 20% Service for Assistant Clinical Professor.
