The City of Newport News is accepting applications from attorneys for a full-time Senior Assistant City Attorney or above. Title and salary are negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications. Significant civil litigation experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge and experience in local government law in general. The specific job duties will depend on the successful candidate's experience and interest but will include civil litigation and may include workers' compensation defense, employee grievances, and other topics. The City provides an excellent benefits package. Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing. The position will remain open until filled.
