Description:

Essential Functions:
  1. Assists with prosecution of cases daily in Jefferson Family, District and/or Circuit Court (based on practice or assignment), including conducting hearings, trials, and conferencing cases on behalf of the County Attorney.
  2. Manages an assigned caseload, which includes pleading review, motion preparation, and case guidance to the caseworkers
  3. Meets as needed with victims and other witnesses to successfully prosecute cases
  4. Responds timely to motions filed by the defense
  5. Follows office guidelines and policies developed by the office
  6. Performs all related work as requested by the Assistant Director, Child Support Division Director, First Assistant County Attorney, and the County Attorney
  7. Responsible for all aspects of child support case prosecution, in court and out of court, including but not limited to preparation of cases, legal research, motion practice, hearings and appeals.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission and member in good standing of Kentucky Bar Association
  • Family law experience (preferred)
