This attorney acts as defense counsel for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and other agencies of the State as needed, in legal actions brought pursuant to the Workers' Compensation Act, N.C.G.S. 97-1, in the N.C. Industrial Commission, state and federal courts. The attorney will represent state agencies in pursuing subrogation liens, and performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Section Head. This attorney also will represent the State in criminal appeals and may be asked to speak at conferences and teach workshops for the client upon request.
