The Office of Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking to hire an experienced attorney to serve as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Division.The Civil Litigation Division represents the State's interests in Arkansas State Circuit Courts, the Arkansas State Claims Commission, and Federal District Courts, as well as appeals to the Arkansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Arkansas and should have experience with the Administrative Procedures Act and Freedom of Information Act. Knowledge of legal principles and practices relevant to statutory interpretation, administrative hearings, agency rules, and significant federal court experience is preferred.
This position requires daily in-office presence and occasional overnight travel. The applicant must be self-motivated to work collaboratively in a professional environment, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively. Assistant Attorneys General work under the supervision of Senior and Deputy Attorneys General. The Office of the Attorney General is an equal opportunity employer.
