The University of Mississippi School of Law invites applications and nominations for up to four tenure-track professors to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year. Appointments will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor depending on experience. We invite and encourage scholars in all fields to apply as our teaching needs are quite broad. We are most interested in candidates who wish to teach Business Associations and related courses, Bankruptcy, Evidence, and Family Law. We are also interested in candidates who wish to teach other 1L and Bar-tested subjects such as Contracts, Torts, and Legal Profession. Finally, we are always looking for candidates who can expand our course offerings in growing practice areas such as Health Law, Labor & Employment Law, and Insurance Law.

Minimum Qualifications:
A candidate must have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school, or equivalent international degree, and a commitment to teaching in an environment dedicated to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students. All applicants should have a distinguished academic background, and either demonstrated promise or a record of excellence in both scholarship and teaching. The most competitive candidates will have a record of published or accepted law review articles or equivalents and some record demonstrating potential for excellence in teaching.
