Closing Date: 18th June, 2026
Description:
Job Description and Duties:The Antitrust Law Section of the California Department of Justice offers unparalleled opportunities to engage in some of the most complex and significant legal battles in the country. We seek attorneys with antitrust or trial experience to help us investigate and/or litigate some of the most high-profile antitrust cases: Live Nation / Ticketmaster, Nexstar / TEGNA, Warner / Paramount, Amazon, and others. In the last year, new attorneys on our growing team have taken scores of depositions, argued substantive motions in state and federal courts, and conducted direct and cross examination of key fact and expert witnesses at trial.
The Antitrust Law Section is the state's primary defense against practices that undermine the competitive process. By bringing cases under both state and federal law, in state and federal courts, the section addresses a wide spectrum of anticompetitive conduct, from localized criminal conspiracies to global civil antitrust violations. As a Deputy Attorney General, you will step into a role that demands both sophisticated legal acumen and a deep commitment to the public good.
We understand that experienced attorneys seek more than just a challenging caseload; they seek meaningful substantive opportunities to grow their expertise and build a legacy. We offer that opportunity. State antitrust enforcement is enjoining a renaissance, and the California Department of Justice is leading the way. Come join us!
