You Will Report to The Child Support Enforcement Agency Director and The Washington County Prosecutor
Washington County Is Seeking an Agency Attorney to Provide Legal Representation and Counsel to The Child Support Enforcement Agency (csea) and Washington County Children Services.
What You'll Do:
- Represent Csea in Paternity, Child Support, Medical Support, Modification, Termination, Enforcement, and Uifsa Matters.
- Represent Children Services in Abuse, Neglect, Dependency, Custody, Permanent Custody, and Juvenile Court Proceedings.
- Review Cases, Evaluate Evidence, and Develop Appropriate Litigation Strategies.
- Prepare and File Complaints, Motions, Pleadings, Discovery, and Other Court Documents.
- Represent the Agencies at Hearings, Trials, Adjudications, Dispositions, and Review Proceedings.
- Prepare Caseworkers, Case Managers, Supervisors, and Witnesses for Testimony.
- Provide Legal Advice Regarding Case Plans, Visitation, Jurisdiction, Confidentiality, Records, Subpoenas, Discovery, and Court Procedures.
- Conduct Legal Research and Stay Current on Ohio and Federal Law and Regulations.
- Participate in Case Staffing and Meetings with Agency Personnel and Families.
- Negotiate Settlements and Other Case Resolutions when Appropriate.
- Review Agency Documents for Legal Sufficiency and Accuracy.
- Works Closely with Csea Staff in All Aspects of Child Support Cases.
Required:
- Juris Doctor Degree from An Accredited Law School.
- Admission to And Good Standing with The Supreme Court of Ohio.
Preferred:
- Experience in Child Support, Juvenile Law, Domestic Relations, Child Welfare, or Governmental Law.
- Strong Courtroom Advocacy, Legal Research, Writing, Communication, and Case-Management Skills.
The Agency Attorney Serves as A Key Legal Resource for Two County Agencies with Significant Responsibilities Involving Children, Families, Paternity, Child Support, Child Safety, Permanency, and The Enforcement of Court Orders. the Successful Candidate Will Have the Opportunity to Handle a Diverse Caseload, Appear Regularly in Court, Work Closely with Experienced Agency Professionals, and Provide Meaningful Legal Services to Washington County.
