About the role:
This is an opportunity to practice estate planning without the traditional billable-hour model, while working with high-quality clients, respected financial advisors, and a collaborative national legal team. The Estate Planning Attorney will guide clients through the planning process, lead virtual client meetings, advise on complex estate and tax planning issues, and help ensure each plan is thoughtfully designed, properly coordinated, and effectively implemented. This role is ideal for an attorney who is confident with clients, comfortable working with financial advisors, and interested in practicing at the forefront of modern estate planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct virtual client meetings to gather information, clarify goals, and present tailored estate planning strategies.
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, and related planning instruments.
  • Lead sophisticated client and advisor meetings with professionalism, clarity, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, internal team members, and our of-counsel attorney network across all 50 states.
  • Stay current on federal and state estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws.
  • Advise clients on asset titling, beneficiary designations, and trust funding.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors and their leadership teams.
  • Respond to client and advisor inquiries promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one state bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in estate & trust planning.
  • At least 3 years of advanced estate planning experience.

Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning, high-net-worth planning, and trust funding.
  • Excellent client-facing skills, including the ability to explain complex planning concepts clearly.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Comfort working in a technology-enabled legal practice.
