This is a highly collaborative, on-site role that requires five days per week in the office.

As a Legal Counsel within the team, you will serve as a primary legal partner to our product, engineering, and business teams. You will evaluate new features and monetization models, manage regulatory risks, and ensure global compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires a balance of legal rigor and business acumen to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $134400 - $223200 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Responsibilities:
- Product Counseling: Provide full-lifecycle legal support for monetization products, including evaluating product requirements, features (including AI-driven tools), and business models for legal and compliance risks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret evolving global regulations related to digital advertising, data privacy, and consumer protection; implement compliance frameworks and pragmatic solutions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, sales, marketing, and engineering teams to provide timely legal guidance and resolve cross-jurisdictional legal issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD), LL.M., or equivalent degree from a reputable law school.
- Licensure: Qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Experience: 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience in a global technology company.
- Expertise: Strong background in internet product counseling and regulatory compliance (e.g., ad law, privacy, consumer protection).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to distill complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
- Mandarin Proficiency: Professional fluency in Mandarin (speaking and reading) to facilitate communication with stakeholders and review documents in Chinese.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Global Perspective: Experience managing legal matters across multiple regions (e.g., APAC, EMEA, Americas).
- Subject Matter Depth: Familiarity with the digital advertising ecosystem.
- Agility: Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business needs and navigate ambiguity with a solution-oriented mindset.
