Baughman Harp, PLLC is a small but growing law firm in Frankfort, Kentucky. Our practice is varied, and includes civil matters including general litigation, personal injury, contract negotiation and review, and estate planning and probate. Associates are given meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and hands-on litigation experience.
Position Overview:
Third-year law students are encouraged to apply for post-graduate employment beginning after sitting for the July bar examination. Licensed attorneys with varying levels of experience are also encouraged to apply.
This position is well suited for candidates seeking practical litigation experience, mentorship in a small firm environment, and the opportunity to develop a well-rounded civil practice within our firm.

Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, contracts, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Assist with negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions
- Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff on active matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school (completed or expected prior to employment start date)
- Admission to the Kentucky Bar Association, or eligibility to sit for the July bar exam
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal procedures
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional judgment and initiative
- Interest in developing ligation and client-facing experience
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
