K&L Gates is seeking 2L 2028 summer associates to join the Intellectual Property (IP) practice in our Seattle office. Recruitment for the 2028 summer associate program will focus on candidates interested in Technology and IP.
Our Summer Associate Program is designed to give law students a full picture of the firm. As a summer associate, you will work closely with experienced lawyers who will provide active mentoring while you learn about our clients, practices, lawyers, and culture.

Selection Criteria:
When considering candidates, we will look at the following criteria:
- A strong, expressed interest in Technology and IP as shown by one or more of the following:
- Law school courses and activities
- Undergraduate studies in related subjects (e.g., science, technology, engineering, or math)
- Work experience in a STEM field or technology industry
- Superior academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Law Review/Moot Court or journal experience
