Troutman Pepper Locke's Summer Associate Program is designed to provide second-year law students with a comprehensive and immersive experience that bridges the gap between academia and legal practice. This program is the first step in associate development, laying the foundation for a prosperous and rewarding career with our firm.

Our program emphasizes learning through first-hand experience and exposure to real client work and interactions. Summer associates will work on substantive projects for existing clients, participate in conference calls, depositions, and client interactions, and engage in pro bono and community service projects. We invite summer associates to sample matters across the firm, deepen their understanding, and ultimately choose the practice area that aligns with their goals.

Throughout the program, summer associates will handle sophisticated client matters, collaborate with mentors, and receive regular feedback to ensure continuous learning and growth. We offer weekly professional development workshops and training opportunities to help develop both legal and professional skills. Our one-of-a-kind Troutman Pepper Locke YOUniversity and other career training and are designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to forge your own unique path to success. Additionally, the program includes a variety of social activities to foster a well-rounded experience.

While our 2027 weekly salary has not been set yet, our 2026 weekly salary is $4,327 and the program is 9 weeks in duration.
