Haynes and Boone, LLP is seeking candidates for the following 2027 2L Summer Opportunities. Please indicate your office/opportunity preferences in the application.Candidates should be rising second-year law students with strong academic credentials and are required to provide a resume, cover letter, and a completed 1L law school transcript. Please make note of the following when submitting your documents:
Unofficial versions of transcripts are sufficient.
Candidates are able to apply before completed 1L law school transcripts are available. You may upload your fall semester transcript in the meantime.
The HB recruiting team will send you a link to upload your completed 1L law school transcript at a later date.
Any candidates interested in our IP opportunities should have an academic background or relevant work experience in engineering, computer science, or physics and should provide an undergraduate transcript.
Traditional 2L Program: A nine- to ten-week clerkship that offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the daily life of a Haynes Boone attorney, meaningful career development, network building, and an in-depth mentorship experience. HB Scholarship Opportunities: The Haynes Boone Scholarships have been established to attract outstanding students to the private practice of law while helping these students be successful in law school through both work and mentorship experiences. Our Scholarships are offered along with the Traditional nine- to ten-week paid summer clerkship with Haynes Boone and are paid during the school year. For 2L students, there is an opportunity to receive up to $40,000 in scholarship funds to assist with school related expenses. Haynes Boone is committed to recruiting, retaining, and advancing young lawyers and our scholarships are one of the many initiatives we have implemented to contribute toward enhancing our firm and profession. HB Scholarship Payments
$10,000 if they receive and accept our 1L summer offer
$25,000 if they receive and accept our 2L summer offer
$15,000 if they receive and accept our First-Year Associate offer
Potential Total Scholarship: $50,000
Suited Assessment: Additionally, we use the Suited Assessment as part of our candidate evaluation and recruitment process to expand our consideration of candidates beyond traditional hiring metrics. Information on what is measured by the assessment, Suited's data retention policies, and how to request a reasonable accommodation may be found in the (1) link below.
