Davis Wright Tremaine LLP (DWT) is seeking applicants for a paid 2L Diversity Law Clerk in the Healthcare practice group for the Spring 2027 term of the student's academic year.The group has attorneys are working in our Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Seattle offices; and, while not required, 2L Law Clerk candidates who live near one of these offices may be able to visit the office and attend in-person meetings with attorneys. The law clerk will report to the Healthcare partners and associates, and we will work with them to accommodate their academic schedule. The hourly salary for this position is $40.00/hour.
Our Healthcare group represents leading hospitals and health systems, clinics, medical groups, foundations, laboratories, pharmacies, scientific and medical research organizations and digital health companies on a range of regulatory, governance and transactional matters. We deal with cutting edge issues such as privacy, health equity and access, and telemedicine. We help our clients navigate the ever-changing healthcare regulatory maze, partnering with them to meet their business goals and objectives while understanding and addressing the regulatory risks.
Responsibilities:
The law clerk will support the Healthcare practice group by:
- Conducting legal research on developments in the laws and regulations impacting companies in healthcare field
- Writing blog posts on relevant legal topics
- Collaborating with attorneys to contribute to the group's ongoing projects.

- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a genuine interest in exploring Healthcare law.
- Are currently enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school.
- Can commit to 5-15 hours of work per week during the Spring 2027 semester.
- Reside within 45 minutes of a DWT office in Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Portland, or Seattle, and able to commit to an in-person work day at least once every two weeks.
