Description:

Robins Kaplan LLP is looking for a bright, passionate, hard-working first year law student to join our highly regarded 2026 Los Angeles Summer Associate Program. Ideal candidates have the goal of becoming elite trial lawyers, have a demonstrated record of academic excellence, will take initiative, demonstrate ownership over their work, stay resilient in the face of challenge and adversity, and maintain a strong work ethic.

We have designed our summer program with two primary goals in mind—introducing you to our firm and what life as an Associate will be like, and helping you improve as legal writers, thinkers, and advocates. As a Summer Associate, you will:
  • Develop advocacy skills by participating in a mock arbitration in our courtroom—guided by some of our firm's most skilled trial lawyers;
  • Help ensure that everyone has access to justice by working on pro bono cases;
  • Work with our attorneys on substantive assignments related to real cases being handled by the firm;
  • Improve your writing through our writing mentorship program;
  • Learn about law beyond the classroom by accompanying our lawyers to trials, hearings, depositions, negotiations, and client meetings.

Robins Kaplan is a national powerhouse firm dedicated to high-stakes litigation and trial work. Its 80-year history includes landmark results and record verdicts. The Firm is a passionate defender of the right to trial by jury. And it has landed on the American Lawyer's A-List on multiple occasions through its core values, unique characteristics, and exceptional results. Robins Kaplan is a rare elite firm that represents both sides of the “v”; has a varied client base that ranges from individuals to small companies to Fortune 100 corporations; and pioneered contingency-fee high-stakes litigation, recovering well in excess of $10 billion for such clients in the last 25 years alone. The Firm also has a nationally recognized pro bono program.

Spend your summer with us and become a better writer, a better advocate, and a better lawyer. Summer Associates earn $4,038/week.
