Lathrop GPM is accepting applications from qualified first year students to be considered for our 2026 Summer Associate Program in our Kansas City office.

Lathrop's salaried 10-week clerkship program provides 1L students with the opportunity to work on client projects and participate in observational opportunities. Work assignments may come from any of our practice groups and will usually involve substantive legal research, analysis, and writing. The format of the 2026 Summer Associate Program will be hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office required.

The ideal candidate is a first-year law student who has demonstrated excellence in their background and who would bring unique life experiences and perspectives to the firm. They will also have a desire to remain in Kansas City long term, as well as have an interest in growing their career at Lathrop GPM LLP. A strong academic record, superior work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team setting is preferred. Candidates must be enrolled and in good standing as a first-year law student at an ABA accredited law school.
