The Washington, DC office of Epstein Becker & Green is accepting applications for first year law students to be considered for its 2026 1L Diversity Pipeline Program in the Firm's Health Care & Life Sciences practice.
EBG is committed to developing and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace filled with the best legal talent. With this in mind, the mission of the 1L Diversity Pipeline Program, established in 2014, is to identify a pipeline of 1L (first-year law school) students who have demonstrated a commitment to diversity and inclusion, life experiences demonstrating their ability to overcome or help others overcome challenges to pursuing a legal career, or the potential for positive impact on the legal community's ability to address such issues. Participants in the pipeline program will contribute to the Firm's Health Care & Life Sciences practice while gaining valuable professional and real-life experience with EBGlawyers and the Firm's clients through project assignments developed specifically for this unique experience.
All students who are in good standing in their first year (or second year of law school for a four-year program) at an ABA-accredited law school are eligible to apply for the pipeline program. Candidates also should have a demonstrated interest in health law through education and/experience, may have had a career prior to law school, should be in the top 1/3of law school classes (if rankings are available), and have excellent communication and writing skills.
Law students who participate in this pipeline program will be paid a weekly salary of $3,055 and can earn placement as a 2L in the Firm's Summer Associate Program. Additionally, pipeline program participants who receive and accept an offer to return to the Firm as a 2L summer associate will receive a bonus in the amount of $10,000 that will be paid when the 2L summer associate offer has been accepted. - A demonstrated record of academic achievement and excellent writing and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience or interest in health care law that will contribute to a successful legal career.
- Engagement in efforts to advance DEI initiatives within the legal profession and/or the community.
- Demonstration of challenges that you have encountered, how you overcame those challenges, and what you learned in facing those challenges.
