Montcalm County is the 28th most populated county in Michigan State, with 67,197 residents per 2020 census. Found in Western parts of Michigan, Montcalm was named after General Marquis Louis-Joseph de Montcalm, the famous French troop’s military commander during the war between India and the French. It is part of the Grand Rapids-Wyoming, MI Metropolitan Statistical Area, officially launched in 1831 and organized in 1850. The county’s county seat is in Stanton, the biggest city in Greenville.
