Carson City, officially the Consolidated Municipality of Carson City, is an independent city and the capital of the state of Nevada. The population was 55,274 at the 2010 census. The city has served as the capital of Nevada since statehood in 1864. City departments include Community Development, Fire, Sheriff's Office, Public Works and many more. The intended purpose of this page is to deliver news and event information from the Consolidated Municipality of Carson City to people who are interested in our programs and activities.
