This is professional and highly responsible work, conducting legal research, preparing memos, and drafting orders for the assigned Circuit Criminal, Family, Unified Family Court, Probate, and Civil Judges. This position will be based in Clearwater at the Pinellas County Justice Center Annex, but will serve the Dade City Circuit Judges. Travel to the Robert D. Sumner Judicial Center in Dade City will be required at least once monthly, and additional travel to Dade City may be required at the judges' request. Work involves considerable interpretation and judgment in the analysis of legal issues. Contacts are primarily with judges and court personnel. All work is performed under the supervision of a Senior Supervising Staff Attorney. Up to two days of telework per week may be authorized.

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and Member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Five (5) years of work experience in the practice of law or as a law clerk in an appellate or trial court.
- Advise judges in assigned divisions on pending litigation and issues.
- Attend hearings and trials, review electronic case files, evidence, depositions, pleadings, motions, memoranda of law, and other documentation to advise judges in a variety of legal areas.
- Research legal matters, substantive and procedural, as directed by judges and draft legal memoranda, judgments, orders, reports, and other correspondence.
- Work effectively in a cooperative atmosphere with judges, attorneys, constitutional officers, and administrative staff functioning within a judicial circuit.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain and monitor a caseload, including Death Penalty cases and Postconviction Relief cases.
