The Senior Consultant II represents insureds and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and An American Insurance Company Financial cases. This position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare for and conduct settlements/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)
- Prepare for and conduct court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)
- Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation, as appropriate
- Prepare for, try, and/or arbitrate cases and prepare motions in limine and summary documents
- Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence and approve initial pleadings, propounds discovery, and develop strategy
- Prepare witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses
- Contact clients to discuss their case and answer any questions
- Conduct depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents
- Keep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, and pre-trial, etc.)
Education:
- 4 year Bachelors Degree (Required)
- Juris Doctor (Required)
Experience:
- 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job does not have supervisory duties.
