We are a Detroit-based not-for-profit legal services provider whose clients include immigrants, refugees, and persons from disadvantaged communities. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various legal areas, particularly immigration law, family law and probate/estate planning. ## Duties
- Provide client consultations and case analysis
- Provide expert advice and counsel on a wide range of legal matters
- Draft and review legal documents, including immigration applications, motions, and pleadings
- Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations
- Manage and oversee junior legal staff
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the firm's practice areas
## Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the State of Michigan
- Minimum of two years of experience practicing law, with a focus on immigration law, family law, probate court practice, and general law practices
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Proficiency in legal databases and case management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients
