Your Role:
You will join our in-house legal team that provides corporate counsel on legal matters for a fast-growing, forward-thinking fintech operating in the heavily regulated financial services industry. As a highly motivated individual, you will have the opportunity to leverage your keen skills in a wide variety of matters. You will work collaboratively within the legal team to position the company for continued growth and success.
Your Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and draft a wide variety of legal agreements, including agreements for the company's services, vendor agreements, and confidentiality agreements
- Conduct legal research and provide actionable guidance on complex regulatory issues.
- Review and approve customer-facing marketing and other materials to ensure compliance with corporate policies and that legal concerns are mitigated
- Respond to due diligence requests from customers (e.g., banks, brokerage firms, fintechs) and various internal and external examiners.
- Support the sales team by addressing inquiries from customers and their attorneys.
- Review and advise management, human resources, and other internal teams on company policies and procedures to establish best practices and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor industry regulations and regulatory developments and provide guidance on such developments as needed.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- J.D. with a strong academic record
- Two to five years of relevant legal experience at a top-tier law firm or in a government or in-house legal department
- Demonstrated experience in banking, finance, securities, or another regulated field
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
