Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, bid proposal terms, and other business documents.
  • Provide constructive decision support to management, human resources and sales team as needed.
  • Some legal research and other duties as assigned by the Senior Counsel or General Counsel.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Must have an interest in the broader oil and gas industry.
  • Must have 2 – 5 years of commercial transactional legal experience, as a licensed attorney.
  • Must be business-minded and able to assist with managing risk while balancing commercial considerations.
  • Must be able to successfully multi-task.
  • Must have exceptional organization skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and assignments under deadline with limited direction and shifting priorities.
  • Must be adaptable and willing to take on varied responsibilities related to commercial transactions, employment law, regulatory matters, and other areas of law.
  • Must be able to pass all applicable background screening tests.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Resumé required.
  • If candidate has less than 3 years of relevant work experience as a practicing transactional attorney, candidate must have graduated in the top half of candidate's graduating law school class.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio, in addition to Texas.
  • In-house legal experience.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and/or experience with the sale of fuels and lubricants, transportation/logistics services, or environmental health and safety.
