Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Attorney to join our Health and Income Maintenance Unit as an Elder Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a passion for advocating for the elderly and disabled, and will have experience in Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and other public benefits programs.Responsibilities:
- Provide legal representation and advocacy to elderly and disabled clients in Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and other public benefits programs
- Conduct client interviews and assess legal issues
- Develop and implement legal strategies to achieve client goals
- Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients
- Maintain accurate and complete case files and records
- Participate in community outreach and education activities
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Florida Bar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and other public benefits programs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to serving low-income and vulnerable populations
