Description:

Position will serve as Chief Counsel, reporting to the An Environmental Services Company President and Project Manager

Duties:
  • Responsible for advising management concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges, interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations, and representing An Environmental Services Company in litigation and other legal proceedings. Functions under the supervision of Corporate Managing Attorney
  • Conducts and supervises broad legal assignments necessitating ability to evaluate matters which may have a major bearing on the conduct of the organization's business
  • Plans and assigns personnel for given projects or tasks. Interprets and applies organization policy. Recommends changes in procedures.
  • Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive legal knowledge to the completion of complex assignments
  • Performs a vast range of legal counseling functions involving, but not limited to, leases, licenses, purchases, sales, insurance, etc.
  • Provides legal advice to the company, prepares resolutions, and participates in major legal actions.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of legal techniques, procedures, and criteria and is competent in all aspects of the job.
  • Demonstrates the proven capability to work with upper management, department heads, groups, subsidiaries, and projects to meet legal requirements and to resolve critical issues; to advise executive and middle management on company policies and legal issues; and to manage people through excellent leadership and communication skills
  • May be assigned to a position in support of the site Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or Joint Information Center (JIC).
  • Support the LEAN Program by identifying and working to eliminate waste from work processes.


Job-Related Qualifications Required:
  • J.D. or LL.B. or equivalent
  • Extensive corporate legal experience required. Must be fully qualified in a particular area of law, such as litigation, tax, or labor.
  • Demonstrated experience with a familiarity and understanding of the project execution process.
  • Demonstrated experience in employment law and litigation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor relations and collective bargaining among multiple unions
  • Working knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) process
  • Familiarity and understanding of the DOE EM budget process
  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q security clearance
  • Strong interpersonal skills to include effective oral and written communication skills.
  • DOE site work experience (preferred)
