Description:

Seeking an experienced attorney for our Washington, DC office to support our expanding practice, combining expertise in professional liability litigation and transactional liability.
  • Qualified candidates will have at least 6 years of experience in both litigation (including depositions, motions practice, trial work, and litigation strategy) and corporate legal matters (including mergers & acquisitions, corporate structuring, finance, accounting, governance, and other business transactions).
  • Ability to analyze complex legal and factual issues impacting both insurance-related matters and corporate transactions with a focus on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating legal exposures.
  • Conduct legal research on complex insurance and corporate topics, draft memoranda to counsel clients on claims, bad faith issues, and transactional legal risks (including tax issues, price adjustment mechanisms, litigation risks, and damages assessment)
  • Ability to analyze corporate transaction documentation and due diligence materials to identify legal risks, potential breaches of representations and warranties, and other exposures related to both corporate transactions and insurance claims.
  • Strong case management, litigation, and brief writing skills with the ability to handle high-value, complex cases independently.
  • Specific knowledge of insurance-related legal risks and transactional legal exposures is a plus.

  • The base salary for this position is expected to be between $250,000 to $350,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
