An American Multinational Technology Company is seeking an attorney with experience in research to join its legal team. This position will report to the Health Care and Research Counsel.
Description:
This role will be primarily responsible for interacting with An American Multinational Technology Company's internal studies review board and external IRBs, counseling and advising day-to-day operations on policies, best practices, and various regulatory requirements including human subjects protection and research ethics. This role will be also be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and revising policies, procedures, guidance, and training related to research activities.
The successful candidate:
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of human subjects research and experience in drafting and reviewing research policies, procedures, consents, and protocols;
- Can provide practical legal advice to a wide variety of issues that arise in the context of research, including virtual studies, e-consent, good clinical practice, and compliance with applicable law and best practices;
- Has a demonstrated ability to quickly identify, analyze and propose practical solutions to legal and business issues and lead projects to successful implementation;
- Can build close relationships and effectively partner with business clients and other members of the law department across the globe to support business objectives in a manner consistent with applicable law and corporate risk tolerance;
- Has exceptional references, a deep curiosity regarding technology and health care, a sense of humor, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and an absolute commitment to excellence and integrity; and
- Has experience advising IRBs or organizations in the health and research space such as academic medical centers or medical device companies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience in research.
- JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Someone who enjoys advising research and ethics boards and researchers.
- Experience and a passion for supporting research with technology, including wearables, or have the willingness to dive in and learn about the intersection of research and technology.
