Position Overview:
The Senior Personal Injury Attorney will play a key role in PLG's high-volume litigation practice, managing a substantial caseload from initial evaluation through trial or settlement. This position requires exceptional litigation skills, the ability to maximize case values in a technology-enhanced environment, and leadership capabilities to mentor junior attorneys while contributing to the firm's continued growth. The ideal candidate will have proven success in personal injury litigation, strong trial experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Core ResponsibilitiesCase Management & Litigation
  • Manage substantial personal injury caseload from inception through resolution, including auto accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and catastrophic injury cases
  • Conduct comprehensive case evaluations using PLG's AI-enhanced assessment tools to maximize case values and settlement potential
  • Perform advanced legal research and analysis utilizing Westlaw AI and other cutting-edge legal technology platforms
  • Draft complex pleadings, motions, and briefs for state and federal courts across multiple jurisdictions
  • Take and defend depositions of clients, witnesses, medical experts, and opposing parties
  • Manage discovery processes including document production, interrogatories, and expert witness coordination
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel to achieve maximum client recoveries

Trial Practice & Advocacy
  • Prepare and try cases to verdict in state and federal courts with focus on maximizing jury awards
  • Develop and present compelling case narratives utilizing multimedia presentations and expert testimony
  • Cross-examine witnesses and experts with proven ability to deconstruct defense arguments
  • Handle appeals and post-trial motions when necessary to protect client interests
  • Maintain trial calendar and manage multiple cases simultaneously through various litigation stages

Client Relations & Communication
  • Serve as primary attorney contact for high-value and complex personal injury cases
  • Conduct client consultations and provide strategic legal advice throughout case lifecycle
  • Manage client expectations while maintaining strong attorney-client relationships in high-stakes situations
  • Coordinate with medical providers, experts, and investigators to build comprehensive case presentations
  • Communicate settlement offers and legal strategy to clients and their families with empathy and clarity

Technology Integration & Innovation
  • Utilize Litify CRM system for comprehensive case tracking and client communication
  • Leverage AI-powered legal tools including Supio AI for document analysis and medical record review
  • Collaborate with technology team to optimize case evaluation processes and improve efficiency
  • Adapt to emerging legal technologies that enhance case outcomes and client service

Leadership & Mentorship
  • Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals in personal injury litigation best practices
  • Lead case strategy meetings and coordinate with settlement department on complex matters
  • Contribute to firm knowledge base through CLE presentations and best practice documentation
  • Participate in business development activities and referral relationship management

Required QualificationsEducation & Bar Admission
  • Juris Doctor from accredited law school with strong academic performance
  • Active Arizona State Bar membership in good standing (or ability to obtain through motion)
  • Admission to practice in federal courts preferred

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 7-10 years personal injury litigation experience with proven track record of substantial settlements and verdicts
  • Demonstrated trial experience with multiple jury trials as lead or co-counsel
  • Complex case management experience including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and high-value claims
  • Insurance company negotiation experience with proven ability to maximize settlement values
  • Multi-jurisdiction practice experience preferred for expanding operations

Technical & Professional Skills
  • Expert-level legal research and writing abilities with attention to detail and persuasive advocacy
  • Advanced litigation technology proficiency including legal databases, case management systems, and presentation software
  • Strong deposition and courtroom presence with excellent oral advocacy skills
  • Medical record analysis expertise for personal injury case evaluation and presentation
  • Expert witness coordination and examination experience

  • CLE speaking experience or other thought leadership activities
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) for diverse client base
