Description:
Role Purpose:The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing high quality, timely and cost-effective solutions-orientated legal services to Travelex Insurance Services and Cover-More, Inc. in the United States and Canada. This role serves to protect the interests of the business and ensure corporate governance obligations are met.

Role Responsibilities:
- Delivers high quality, timely and cost-effective legal services to meet the business' strategic and operational needs
- Creates, collaborates, negotiates, manages, and stores template and non-template agreements for Travelex Insurance Services
- Provides practical, solution-based advice to clients while considering the potential legal risks associated
- Assists with resolution disputes and manages litigation
- Acts as a liaison with regulators and maintains strong working relationships
- Coordinates processes for legal review and signs off on offer documents, financial services guides and advertising, sales & marketing material
- Produces Annual Reports for the business
- Provides secretarial support and advice to local company Boards
- Determines, engages, and acts as a liaison with external legal advisors as needed
- Acts as the key regulatory liaison in the United States and Canada, in conjunction with Cover-More's Group General Counsel / Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer
- Builds collaborative and productive working relationships across the organization with key internal and external stakeholders
What You Bring?
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis Legal Analysis; JD degree encouraged
- 7 - 10 years' experience in legal work related to the insurance industry with an emphasis in regulatory compliance and contracts
- Experience in leading/coordinating interdepartmental projects and initiatives
- Thorough knowledge of insurance industry best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of contracts
- Exceptional understanding of regulatory requirements within the corporate environment
- Experience with contract drafting and language review
- Knowledge of OFAC, HIPPA and AML general regulations
- Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement, business improvement, and compliance systems
- Results oriented with a demonstrated ability to be initiative-taking, meet deadlines
- Meticulous with a powerful sense of urgency
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and negotiation abilities required
- Demonstrate skills in problem identification, analysis and developing solutions
- Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in technical software and applications; proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel as required, including international
- Ability to exercise tact and good people skills
