An Energy Management and Automation Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with a minimum of five years' experience in commercial contracting in Boston, MA; Nashville, TN; Dallas, TX.This role will support a variety of Schneider electric business units and requires experience in drafting, analyzing and negotiating complex equipment, software and services agreements of varying scope and complexity. As part of this role, you will be part of Schneider Electric's North American Legal team providing legal expertise for various business units with responsibilities including but not limited to:
What Will You Do?
- Drafting, analyzing, providing advice and negotiating a combination of specialized and complex equipment sales, software and service contracts of varying scope.
- Be a business counsel, partner and provide strategic legal support and advice to internal business clients.
- Working directly with internal stakeholders and customers , to negotiate complex agreements in relation to products, services, software and components to support Schneider Electric's business, product offerings and customer projects.
- Provide pre-dispute advice to internal clients regarding disputes with customers.
- Providing thought leadership on best-in-class contracting templates; development of contracting best practices, clause libraries and playbooks.
- Provide legal advice and counsel within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers to ensure that their current or proposed activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations as well as company policies.
- Provide legal trainings to business clients as directed by manager.
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school in the U.S.
- Bar admission in at least one state.
- At least five years of experience directly handling, drafting and negotiating complex commercial equipment, software and/or service agreements.
- Law firm experience will be considered; prior in-house counsel experience within a corporate legal department is a plus.
