An Energy Management and Automation Company has an opportunity for a Senior IP Legal Counsel in Boston, MA, Nashville, TN or, Raleigh, NC.

The Senior IP Counsel will focus on IP litigation, enforcement, claim, and case management across North America, Europe, and South America, as appropriate. This role requires extensive experience in handling complex IP matters.

What Will You Do?
  • Lead and manage IP litigation and enforcement actions in North America, Europe and South America.
  • Oversee the management of IP claims and cases, ensuring effective resolution and protection of the company's IP assets.
  • Collaborate with external counsel and manage relationships with law firms to ensure high-quality legal representation.
  • Develop and implement IP enforcement strategies to protect the company's intellectual property rights.
  • Communicate effectively with company executive on risk, budget, and action plan, and provide legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on IP-related matters.
  • Partner with business and finance to effectively and efficiently manage IP litigation and enforcement within budget
  • Monitor and analyze changes in IP laws and regulations and advise the company on potential impacts.
  • Work closely with other IP team members and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to IP management.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification from an accredited law school and in good standing with the bar(s) in state(s) where licensed to practice law.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one common law jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IP litigation, enforcement, and case management, preferably in a reputable law firm or a multinational company.
  • Strong knowledge of US and global IP laws and regulations.
  • Deep experience and ability to manage outside counsel and budgets for litigation.
  • Working knowledge of English

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex IP litigation and enforcement actions.
  • Working knowledge of French, Chinese, German or Spanish.
  • Extensive experience in IP Strategy, IP-related agreements, and C-suite communications.
  • Professional experience in both private practice and in-house multinational environments
  • Registered at the US Patent and Trademark Office
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies, strategies and standards
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or similar fields.
