Your role at An American Technology CompanyAn American Technology Company is looking for an experienced Senior Counsel, Commercial to primarily support the North American sales and partners organizations.
- You will draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, primarily for software licensing and related services, as well as other commercial contracts as needed.
- You will collaborate with the sales and partners channels and other business units such as services, finance, security, compliance and product.
- You will respond promptly to legal related requests from internal clients across functional groups.
- You will support the continuous improvement of standard agreements, policies and processes, and develop and conduct client training.
This is a hybrid role out of our Waltham, MA office.
What will help you succeed
Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years' overall legal experience.
- At least 3 year's experience negotiating commercial contracts, preferably in an in-hour role with a software or technology-oriented company.
- J.D. degree required.
Preferred Requirements:
- Public sector (federal and state/local) contracting experience.
- Experience with the following types of transactions: SAAS licensing, professional services, reseller agreements, and vendor/supplier contracts.
- Strong business sensibilities and ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Strong contract analysis, drafting and negotiation skills.
- Able to work and act decisively and with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, high activity environment and handle multiple transactions and issues at one time.
- Able to show leadership and confidence while also being able to participate effectively and constructively as a member of a team.
- Able to work independently and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines in a sales-driven environment without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills to work with all levels of internal management and negotiate with external parties showcasing a customer service-oriented approach.
