This title for this role is based on experience and can be either a Corporate Counsel or Senior Corporate Counsel role.
This is a hybrid position that will work three days per week from any A Global Safety Certification Company office (such as Northbrook, IL, Chicago, IL, or Austin, TX, Melville, NY, Princeton, NJ). Our legal leadership is in Northbrook, IL, so we would prefer a candidate in the greater Chicago area.

- Serving as the company's primary procurement counsel.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements to govern the acquisition of goods, services, and new technology.
- Conducting risk evaluations of proposed vendors in collaboration with procurement, IT, cybersecurity, privacy, and other support functions.
- Evaluating proposed uses of artificial intelligence to ensure they are legal, ethical, and consistent with A Global Safety Certification Company policies.
- Drafting and maintaining internal templates such as consulting services agreements, staffing agreements, IT services agreements, and API agreements.
- Occasionally assisting with client-facing work, including reviewing and negotiating SaaS terms, master licensing agreements, and other agreements that govern A Global Safety Certification Company services.
- Keeping up with legal developments around the world related to commercial contracting, privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

- BA/BS, JD, and state bar admission.
- At least three years of procurement experience either in-house or at a major law firm (ideally both).
- Extensive familiarity with cloud-based services, software-licensing, API, and information-security agreements.
- Experience with other types of procurement agreements, such those governing the acquisition of equipment and professional services.
- A great sense of humor and eagerness to work collaboratively with a tightknit legal team.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide poised and practical advice to people at all levels of the business.
- Ability to independently manage complex and varied responsibilities, adjusting to changing priorities as needed.
- Comfort (and ideally experience) working with internal and external clients around the world.
- Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, PIPL, and U.S. state privacy laws. IAPP credentials are a plus.
- Familiarity with Ironclad.
- Experience with government contracting, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
