Job Summary:The Firm Seeks Talented Attorneys Who Are Proficient in Managing Cases from Inception Through Jury Trial. Candidates Should Possess Strong Skills in Investigation, Drafting Pleadings, Preparing Motions, Maintaining Client Contact, Developing Expert Witnesses, and Managing Discovery.
Responsibilities:
The Duties of The Position Include, However, Are Not Limited To, the Following:
- Self-Directed Case Management from Inception to Resolution (under Partner).
- Prepare For, Conduct, and Attend Hearings, Depositions, and Draft Pleadings, Discovery and Motions as Well as Mediations and Trials/arbitrations.
- Attend and Manage Hearings, Mediations, Settlement Conferences and Court Proceedings.
- Draft Pleadings, Motions and Briefs.
- Analyze, Evaluate, Synthesize and Research Case Law, Statutes, Regulations and Documents Impacting the Firm's Clients.
- Conduct Legal Research Regarding Complex Procedural and Substantive Issues.
- Interface with Clients and Opposing Counsel in A Professional Manner.
- Ability to Handle Complex Problems Utilizing Initiative, Creativity and Sound Professional Judgment.
- Organize and Manage Documents from Multiple Sources in The Court of Multidistrict and Other Complex Litigation.
- Build Relationships with Existing Clients, Including Involvement in Networking and Business Development Activities.
- Work Within a Team and Support Peer Associates.
- Committed to Excellent Customer Service.
- Independently Manage Assigned Cases and Docket.
Education/experience:
- Juris Doctor Degree and Admission to The Ohio State Bar.
- Proficient with Legal Research Tools, Including Westlaw and Lexis Nexis.
- 5-8 Years of Private Firm Litigation Experience.
- Preferred: Admission to Additional State Bars.
