We are seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join our Real Estate & Title Insurance (RE&TI) Practice Group. This role will provide hands-on experience in complex real estate, mortgage, and notarial matters, with minimal supervision and strong opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities:
- Handle complex real estate, mortgage, and notarial matters, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to efficiently resolve cases and develop strategic legal solutions
- Draft, review, and negotiate deeds, contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and motions
- Represent clients in court hearings, legal proceedings, and negotiations
- Communicate and meet with Registry of the Property personnel and other key stakeholders
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on evolving real estate and notarial laws
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation, ensuring accessibility for attorneys and staff
- Support other practice areas as needed, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative legal team
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
- Notarial Bar certification required
- Bilingual (Spanish & English) – strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- Experience handling real estate transactions, title insurance, and mortgage matters (4-7 years preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico (preferred but not required)
