We are currently seeking a Business and/or Real Estate Attorney to join the Transaction Section in our Corpus Christi, TX office. This position is on site.Compensation flexible based on the experience level of the attorney.
Role Description:
The ideal candidate will be a lateral attorney (two (2) years of experience minimum) able to handle existing and new business and/or real estate transactional matters that come into PRDG. The role involves serving as a lead attorney handling all aspects of real estate and other commercial business transactions including purchase and sale agreements, business structuring and formation, document preparation, and negotiations. To be successful, the candidate should possess skills and attributes necessary to work within a team, think independently, and have personal skills to interface with clients and opposing counsel. Having a book of business would be a plus but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead attorney in handling all aspects of Business and/or Real Estate transactional matters as well as supervision of lawyers and paralegals within the Business & Real Estate Transaction Section of PRDG.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and documents pertaining to business and/or real estate transactions and disputes.
- Due diligence in acquisitions, mergers, title, zoning, and/or environmental issues
- Negotiate on behalf of clients.
- Provide strategic legal guidance and solutions to clients.
- Manage transactions from initiation through closing.
- Develop and review agreements with stakeholders, investors, sellers, purchasers, and joint ventures
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contracts affecting real estate development, construction, entity formation, and entity governance.
- Provide legal advice on risk management strategies, contract enforcement, and dispute resolution
- Conduct legal research and stay informed of industry changes and evolving laws that impact the real estate and business sector.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D) degree.
- Admission to the Texas State Bar.
- 2+ years' experience in real estate and/or business law
- Though having a board certification is not required, having or being on track to obtain board certification in Commercial Real Estate Law, Residential Real Estate, Farm and Ranch Real Estate Law, Construction Law, and/or Property Owners Association Law is preferred.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in legal research and writing.
