Presides over various matters requiring judicial action prior to disposition. Presides over hearing and trials including jury trials. Hears evidence Compels production of relevant evidence, including books, papers, vouchers, documents, and other writings. Rules on admissibility of evidence. Issues summons and attachments for the appearance of witnesses. Examines witnesses Swears witnesses for hearings and trials. Performs acts and takes the necessary and proper measures for the efficient performance of duties as assigned by the Chief Magistrate. Performs related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Juris Doctorate, licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, and 5 years experience practicing law. Must be able to act independently on own authority. Standard office environment.
