An East Coast Law Firm's Private Client Department (PCD) is seeking an associate with a minimum of 4 years of experience with international estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and companies to join our national recognized practice. This position can be located in any of An East Coast Law Firm's offices.Ideal candidates will have cross-border tax planning experience advising U.S. and non-U.S. taxpayers on wealth management structures which accommodate multi-jurisdictional tax and legal considerations is preferred. Experience with foreign trusts, pre-immigration and expatriation planning, planning for the purchase of U.S. property by non-U.S. persons and compliance with tax and reporting obligations for those with overseas interests in foreign accounts, corporations and trusts is a plus.
An East Coast Law Firm attorneys in the International Trusts and Estates practice group focus on planning for U.S. citizens who reside in or have assets abroad; non-U.S. citizens who reside in, are moving to or want to invest in the United States; and multinational families with assets and/or family members in more than one country, including the United States. Our lawyers strive to combine the highest level of cross-border tax planning with careful attention to non-tax issues. Our Family Office team includes experienced attorneys from multidisciplinary practices, serving the corporate, tax, and transactional needs of high-net-worth clients and their businesses.
An East Coast Law Firm's policies offer a hybrid in-office / remote work schedule to provide our attorneys with greater flexibility. Flexibility on days in the office, part time candidates, and candidates who would prefer to spend any in-office days in one of An East Coast Law Firm's other offices will also be considered.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in sophisticated international estate planning matters
- Excellent technical, professional and client service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
- Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration
- Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
- Member in good standing in the jurisdiction you plan to practice (required)
