Job Overview:We are a boutique and growing Personal Injury Plaintiff's firm, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Admitted Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be able to manage personal injury cases, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely. The role requires a strong understanding of personal injury law, excellent research skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and legal professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare legal documents related to personal injury cases, including pleadings, discovery requests, and motions.
- Appear in Court.
- Conduct Depositions.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw/Lexis-Nexis to support case development and strategy.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather necessary information for cases.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and deadlines are met.
- Prepare trial materials and participate in the litigation processes as needed.
- Collaborate with paralegals and other legal staff on various aspects of case management.
- Stay updated on changes in personal injury law and relevant legal procedures.
Experience:
- Previous experience as an associate attorney in personal injury law is required, with a minimum of 3+ years.
- Proficiency in legal research techniques and familiarity with tools such as Lexis-Nexis is highly desirable.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Knowledge of NYS e-filing systems is a plus.
- Must be admitted to practice law in New York; Federal court admission is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
