Major Areas of Responsibility:
The Attorney will help the Managing Partners with all aspects of case management including:
- Manage a caseload of pre-litigation and litigation personal injury matters
- Conduct discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
- Evaluate cases and develop litigation strategies
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and medical providers
- Proactively managing the case load and calendar to ensure all deadlines are met and appropriate parties notified in a timely manner
- Other activities as assigned
What we are looking for:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license and in good standing with the Texas State Bar
- Licenses in Texas Federal Courts
- 5–10 years of Plaintiffs' personal injury litigation experience
- Proven trial and courtroom experience strongly preferred
- Strong writing, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Commitment to client service and results
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point,etc.)
- Experience with case management software (i.e., FileVine, Neos, etc.)
- Confidentiality and discretion are necessary
- Ability to deal with simultaneous projects and competing priorities
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to convey information and ideas through speech in ways that others will understand
- Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact, empathy, and diplomacy in handling sensitive situations
- Follow established guidelines and procedures and provide support for miscellaneous requests and flex services with a “can do” attitude and philosophy
- Deliver on commitments in a timely and accurate manner
- Because of the nature of the work, contractors may at times be required to work varying schedules due to trial schedules, etc.
