Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled mid-level to senior attorney with a strong aptitude for legal research and writing to join our boutique municipal infrastructure law firm, which was formed by attorneys who formerly practiced in large law firms and prominent public agencies to provide responsive legal solutions for state and local governments and agencies.
The successful candidate will focus on providing high-quality, in-depth legal research, analysis, and writing support in the area of municipal infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of municipal law, regulatory frameworks, and infrastructure-related legal issues, coupled with exceptional analytical and research and writing skills. This position requires a passion for researching and analyzing complex legal issues and drafting precise and persuasive legal documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and precise legal research using platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases.
- Draft, review, and refine legal memoranda, briefs, regulations and ordinances, and other documents related to municipal infrastructure projects and issues.
- Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal sources to support litigation, transactional, or advisory matters.
- Monitor and analyze developments in municipal, state, and federal laws impacting infrastructure projects.
- Provide assistance with respect to drafting marketing materials and substantive articles with respect to municipal infrastructure matters.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or
- Rhode Island. Those jurisdictions are preferred, but others will be considered.
Experience and Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of legal experience, with at least 1 year focused on municipal law, infrastructure, or related fields, with a particular emphasis on complex legal research and writing.
- Excellent research skills using legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, and the ability to incorporate feedback and conform work product to the firm's style for its clients.
- Exceptional legal writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive content.
- Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
- Comfort working remotely and receiving and discussing assignments by phone and email.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on issues for municipalities, public agencies, or similar organizations.
- Clerkship experience with a court or judge.
- Experience working at a large to mid-size law firm.
