About the Job:Furman Kornfeld & Brennan is seeking an attorney to work at the level of at least a mid-level litigation associate to join its New York metropolitan area health care litigation practice.
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant litigation experience that includes medical malpractice litigation. The candidate must have strong writing skills, the ability to work independently and experience communicating with clients and opposing counsel. Writing samples are required upon application. The ability to handle aspects of litigation with minimal supervision, such as interviewing witnesses, providing and reviewing discovery, reviewing and analyzing medical records, drafting pleadings, motions and briefs, conducting and defending depositions, client reporting, and attending court appearances is also required. Candidates must also possess strong academic credentials. Juris Doctorate degree required. Admission to practice law in New York is mandatory.
The expected salary range for this position ranges from $110,000 - $200,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience and education. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus at year end.
