What are the details?We are fully remote yet highly collaborative. We meet in person once each year at a different location as voted by our professionals. For this position, attorneys admitted to practice in the State of Washington and within driving distance of the federal court houses in the Western District of Washington are strongly preferred because most of our litigation is in the Western District of Washington. Strong candidates from anywhere in the United States will be considered, however.
The minimum annual billing requirement is $350,000 (e.g., 73+ hours each month at an hourly rate of $400 or 875+ hours a year). As long as you timely produce quality work and communicate with the team, you are free to structure your time and practice however you please.
The good-faith annual income range for a mid-level attorney is $210,000 – $255,000 based on 1,200 billed hours. The good-faith annual income range for a senior-level attorney is $255,000 – $310,000 based on 1,200 billed hours.
The actual income range depends on a variety of factors, including amount of relevant experience, overall qualifications, and your collections. You will earn 50% of your collections, plus 15% origination and 37.5% of profit on non-attorney professionals (e.g., paralegals or legal assistants) for matters on which you work. You will not pay overhead in this position. We expect to provide up to 1,200 billable hours of work each year, as your bandwidth permits.
Attorneys with partial books of business are encouraged to apply. After one year, you will be eligible to rise in the ranks and begin earning 57.5% of your collections, plus 15% origination and 45% of profit on non-attorney professionals for matters on which you work, with a lower billing requirement. After two years, you will be eligible to jump up to 65% of your collections, plus 15% origination and 52.5% of profit on non-attorney professionals for matters on which you work.
We have a team of attorneys with a variety of skills, and you can delegate legal research, document review, domestic or foreign patent prosecution, domestic or foreign trademark prosecution, or other tasks or projects to appropriate attorneys at your discretion.
