You'll join a team that values collaboration, practical advice, and a strong understanding of how media, technology, and data intersect.
We'll trust you to:
- Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements relating to content production, licensing and acquisition, advertising, distribution, partnership, sponsorship, NDA, talent, and production services.
- Advise Bloomberg Media on intellectual property, licensing, data privacy, distribution, and advertising matters.
- Partner with Legal & Compliance colleagues, including newsroom, IP, and privacy counsel to align legal strategies and address cross-functional issues.
- Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, and policies that promote consistency, efficiency, and clarity across Media Legal.
You'll Need to Have:
- A J.D. degree and active New York Bar membership (or eligibility to register as in-house counsel).
- 5+ years of experience advising clients in the media or entertainment industries either at a law firm or in-house.
- Familiarity with content production, distribution, advertising, or partnerships within a media organization.
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and licenses.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills, with the ability to deliver concise, actionable legal advice.
- Excellent organization, judgment, and attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative approach and proven success working across legal and non-legal teams.
We'd love to see:
- Experience handling cross-border transactions or advising on international matters.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that values business judgment and creative problem-solving.
